took a breath and looked down. I was high above everyone in a circus tent,
ready to swing down on a trapeze.

big present was wrapped in shiny gold paper. I rushed into my house with it.
"Where did you get that?" my mother asked.

snapped her fingers. The next thing I knew, I was riding on a
grasshopper’s back.

opened my front door slowly and peeked out. It was April Fool's Day, and I
was going to be very careful.

was at the zoo when someone opened the door to the monkey cage. Suddenly,
something landed in the hood of my jacket. I heard a voice say softly,
"Please let me hide in here.”

wind was blowing snow against my window. I woke up and saw more snow than I
had ever seen before.

were going to tear down the old deserted house. They told us we could
explore it first and take anything we wanted. You won't believe what
happened and what we found!

wanted to see what was at the end of the rainbow. We took coats, boots, and
some food for the journey." We ran out the door.

was deep in the woods when 1 saw the squirrel. It was as tall as I am.
"Good morning," it said.

walk to the beach was dusty. When we were almost there, we heard laughing
and shouting. My cousin said, "Let's hurry!"

wrapped the magic blanket around us. Then I said the magic words. We began
to rise" slowly.

Soon
everyone would begin to arrive. Our Thanksgiving Day dinner was cooking, but
there were still things left to do.

"Let's
see what we can do," the magician" said. He pulled me closer.

We sat down in the grass to rest after our five-mile hike. We heard
something we didn't expect. We looked at each other and then turned around.

What
a birthday I'm going to have! I'll be able to choose whatever I want to eat
and wherever I want to go.

I was sitting on a raft one day last summer. I looked down into the
water. I saw a water pixie looking up at me.

new puppy barked excitedly. He wanted me to follow him.

told them what happened to me on Halloween night. No one would believe me.

I was still in bed one crisp, fall morning. I heard my father call,
"Get ready. Remember where you're going today. It's a perfect day for
it!"

day, my pencil stood up by itself" and began to write.

I finished my work, picked up my things, and rushed off to my new,
secret, special place.

we were walking on the beach, we saw something shiny between two big rocks.
My cousin ran ahead. Suddenly she stopped and shouted, "Hurry up! Look
at this!"

saw the pony as I crossed the green, grassy field. She trotted right up to
me and whinnied.* Her whinny seemed to ask me to take a ride.

We
hadn't been able to play outside for days because of the rain, slush, and
melting snow. Finally, the sun came out, and it was spring.

followed the ball as it rolled out onto the sidewalk. All of a sudden, it
dropped into a deep hole. I reached into the hole, and my hand touched
something strange.

was a lazy summer day. I lay down under a tree and fell asleep. What I
dreamed really could have happened that afternoon.

Bright, colorful signs were hanging all over town. Children and
grown-ups were crowding the sidewalks. The smells in the air were making me
hungry. I was ready to go, but my friend was late.

It had never been so busy in the school library. Many of the
characters from the books were there.

A
package came the day before Valentine's Day. I had to wait to open it. I
wished I knew who had sent it.

were walking in a field of tall grass. My friend grabbed my arm and pointed.
In just one place, the grass was waving wildly.
